Do you feel overwhelmed when you see all the different brushes in stores? I’m here today to help you choose only few brushes that you might really need. Of course you can have less/more than those 5 types of brushes but those are the ones that I’m using the most and that I think are the most usefull in everyday makeup.
- EYELINER BRUSH
This brush that I’m using is HAKURO H85 angled brush, it’s very precise, but you can use any brush in this type. I prefer this Flat/Angled brush than pointy ones, it’s easier to trace the perfect line with your gel liner.
Of course if you don’t use eyeliners in gel you wont need this kind of brush, but in my opinion gel eyeliners are the best, just try them and you’ll never come back to buy anything else.
2. BROW BRUSH
I’m using Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe for my brows as you saw in my previous posts, and for this I have a brush that is pretty much the same as previous one for eyeliner just not that precise and a little bit longer. This one is old and it lose his shape because I’m using it everyday but it’s still good for eyebrows makeup.
3. EYESHADOW BRUSH
This kind of brush that I have is very versatile, you can put eyeshadows on your eyelids with it and after you can blend with it because it’s very soft and it’s angled shape is perfect for the crease. I love this brush even if it’s a little bit old and is falling apart ^^ I have to glue the handle, but it’s my favourite brush ever for eyeshadows. This one is by Elite Model Look.
I want to show you another brush for eyeshadows (picture below, the brush on the right) that is very popular for blending (it’s similar to Mac 217 brush) but I don’t use it so often, he isn’t soft enough for me. This one is Maestro 497 (it’s a polish brand).
4. FOUNDATION BRUSH
I usually don’t use a brush with my foundation, I prefer to work with my fingers because it’s faster, but recently I gave this brush a go and I really like the results. I have HAKURO H18 flat foundation brush. For me it works better that stipling brushes. I’ll definitely try to do my face makeup more often with this flat brush.
5. CONTOUR/POWDER BRUSH
The last type of brush that I wanted to show you is contour and powder brush (you can have 2 separate brushes but you can use one for both products).
The first one I have is HAKURO H24, it’s an angled brush for blush, bronzer and highlighter, but you can definitely use it to set your makeup with loose or pressed powder.
As an alternative you can use another kind of brush that I’m showing you below. It’s a large powder brush that I’m using for everything on a daily bases because it’s short and I can take it with me in my purse. I use it for contouring (I can flatten it for more precise edge), for blush and for powder. It’s my most used brush.
That was my top 5 (or actually 6 ^^) holy grail makeup brushes that I think you really need for everyday makeup. I hope you enjoyed this post, if so please share it on faceboook or twitter, and comment below. Tell me what brushes do you use for your everyday makeup?
